Overview

Entry requirements

The Learners must possess –

  • Relevant NQF/QCF/RQF Level 4 Award/Diploma or at the level of GCE/GCSE or equivalent qualification
    or
  • Mature learners with management 3 years of work experience in case of no formal qualification
    and
  • Learner must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course

Unit 1 – Academic Writing and Research Skills
Engaging in academic research and writing will help students to interpret and evaluate sources of information and evidence before becoming involved engaging in the production of evidence based, logical, arguments. The aim of this unit is, therefore, to support the exploration of key topics which form part of the academic research and writing process so that learners will be able to achieve greater success and recognition in their studies.

Unit 2- Business and the Economic Environment

Unit 3 – Principles of Financial Accounting
The aim of the unit is to help you to understand and apply the principles of financial accounting in a business setting. 

Unit 4 – Quantitative Methods in a Business Context
This unit is designed to develop skills in using quantitative methods, including how to present and use business and management data to inform business decisions. 

Unit 5 – Management Accounting
The aim of the unit is for learners to develop their skills in management accounting, including preparation of budgets, costing, capital expenditure appraisal, and to apply these skills to a real world case or case study.

Having hard management and soft leadership skills is often stated by employers as being key to the success of a business but few people have sufficient quantities of both to make a significant impact on business operations and strategy.
